 Nike Zoom Victory - Men's
Nike Zoom Victory - Men's
The Zoom Victory is the lightest middle-distance spike ever made by Nike. High-strength Flywire technology works to minimize overlays and maximize the strength and durability of the spike. Compression-molded Flashlon foam midsole offers a lightweight, responsive foot strike. Zoom Miler plate design provides added comfort and traction on the track. Improved TPU sharkskin delivers grip on any surface. For 800-5000 meters. Includes 1/4" pyramid spikes and a wrench. These two shoes come in separate colors for each foot: 31036670 = Solar Red right shoe/Volt left shoe. 31036430 = Blue Glow right shoe/Electric Green left shoe. Wt. 3.6 oz.

High School distance runner looking for a fast light spike? Matumbo or Victory?

I have a pair of Zoom Victory spikes and they are worth the money. I'm a 400/800m guy so i just wanted a fast spike with excellent grip, and fair enough I pr'ed MANY times in these. It mainly depends on what events you typically run and also personal preference. With the Matumbo's you sacrifice grip for weight and cushion. More cushion and less weight? you might ask, yes, the Matumbo IS lighter than the Victory but only by a marginal amount, a mere 2oz. Overall with both though you might sacrifice durability since they are made out of a type of nylon and wont take POWER stress (i.e. 200/400m) to well, but nothing to worry if you are solely distance.
All of this put simply:
Speed+Good Grip+Minimal Cushion+400m-1500m=Victory
Speed+Cushion+Lightweight+Fair Grip+1500-10000m=Matumbo
